Teachers Mutual Bank is an organisation created by teachers for teachers.
They partnered with DT to re-imagine TMBank.com.au and to improve and simplify the experience of both customers and non-customers.

My role was to lead the design work from the style tiles to development.

Teachers Mutual Bank Website

This is how we worked.

DESIGN PROCESS

Style Tiles

We proposed two different style tiles to TMBank, based on their identity (blocks of flat, powerful colors, a mix of round and square corners, rounded typography and friendly iconography) and let them choose how their brand should look.

Master Templates

Following the style tiles feedback, I designed a  product and a category page (the homepage was less visited). We tested these on TMBank members for feedback and improvement.

Agile Design Process

In three weeks and four sprints, we produced, with another designer, all the master pages with the 27 modules that TMBank can use to build new pages and revise the page hierarchy without additional development.

Mobile Design

In every sprint, we designed both desktop and mobile versions to help developers with the responsive design.

Development Guidelines

After all the designs were approved, I prepared development guidelines for the TMBank designers and our own development team. These included rules for responsive design, copy blocks, colors, font sizes, spacing and so on.
